Lexi and her siblings came to Jake's Wish after being surrendered to a vet for euthanasia by their breeder because all three were either blind or soon to be blind. Letti has partial sight but she is expected to be blind before long. This super smart 4 month old, 24 lb girl has been learning lots of good stuff in her foster home and we will require her adopters to continue her training in basic obedience as well as being willing to learn how to acclimate a blind dog to a new environment. Lexi is a very loving, food motivated, and eager to please girl. However, true to her breed, she can be stubborn and hard headed. She will thrive with a family who has a loving but well-disciplined and structured household and has experience with strong breeds like Rotties. Lexi is great with new people of all kinds (kids too) and is being fostered in a home with cats and other dogs. She loves to play with them all, but her humans are definitely her favorite. Lexi will thrive in home where someone is home more often than not, or with an owner who can take her to work. She is well-behaved in an office environment. Lexi has been dealing with some puppy vaginitis which causes her to need to urinate frequently but that should clear up now that she has been spayed. She is doing well with potty training otherwise and we think she'll have it completely down soon.
