Redbone Coonhound (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Young : : Medium
Kacie is approximately 7 months old. She is such a sweet girl and has a lovely temperament. She will bark at a new person, but then comes up for pets. She is gentle to take treats. She is currently fostered with 3 other dogs from 12 to 60 pounds and gets along great. There is another young dog in the house that she constantly wrestles with, plays, and cuddles up to sleep with. She has come face to face with multiple cats, does a quick sniff and that is it. She is good with kids. We encountered 12 young adolescent boys on a recent trip and she just politely hung out with them. She knows sit, down, off, touch, drop it. She recalls to "touch" command. We are working on leave it. She pulls on a regular leash but does great on an Easy Walk harness. She will counter surf if given the chance and she is so tall, it isn't too hard for her. :) She likes her crate and will go in there to nap during the day also. She loves nothing more than to have a rousing game of wrestle time with her doggy buddy and then curl up on the couch next to you for a nice long nap. She likes the water, can swim and will go in with some gentle coaxing. She has been river rafting and loved it. She is a good swimmer also and seems pretty comfortable in the water. She would prefer a fenced yard as she loves to run and she is super fast. She isn't a fan of dog parks, she got overwhelmed the time we attempted it and there was only 3 other dogs there. (We are going to try her at Wag Hotels daycare to see how she does, since it is a more controlled environment) She does not retrieve. She loves antlers, broth ice cubes, chicken feet, bully sticks, Plato treats, and stuffed kongs. She loves to chew on pine cones and tree bark chips that she grabs from the wood pile. :) She will also carry around small branches for fun. We have started off leash work with her and she seems to want to stick close to us versus follow the scent off into the woods. Like all hounds though, she can have a mind of her own...
