Gnarly was found by water district employee on the mean streets of San Bernardino, CA where we learned he had been hanging out for almost 2 weeks on his own. He is a young dog full of energy, but his cuddle game is on point. Gnarly will immediately snuggle into your armpit when you lay down with him, and he'll let you hold him like a baby and share kisses with you. When his foster mom works from home, Gnarly likes to lay at her feet. This adoptable kiddo weighs about 10lbs and is FULL of life and love. We think he's anywhere from 1-4 years old. He knows how to crank up the energy for play and how to get his cuddle on. Gnarly's favorite game is fetching with a knotted sock or plush toy. He is crate trained, potty trained, uses the doggie door, and walks well on a leash. See the link for more info on how 'Sir Gnarles' can be part of your family.
Gnarly gets along very will with dogs his size. He is currently fostered with several small dogs of various ages and energy levels, and two large dogs. The large dogs make him nervous and he can be reactive to them, but with time and patience, Gnarly is becoming more comfortable around them. At meal time, Gnarly prefers to eat away from other dogs, either in a crate or another room.
New people can be a little scary at first, but even Gnarly can't resist a soft voice and loving touch. This boy is potty trained to use a doggie door and has not had an accident in his foster home. Gnarly sleeps in a crate at night in his foster's bedroom and seems content, though we think his preference is to sleep IN the bed with his people.
Gnarly hasn't had formal training, but he walks nicely on a leash and loves a game of fetch! He's a smart and willing dog that would do well building confidence and bonding with his new family through obedience training classes.
