Leila is a beautiful, young, plott hound-lab mix. She was found as a stray, so her history is unknown; however, she took to the crate and the doggie door quickly. Leila remains cautious, but curious, about humans and life in a home. Her foster family is working on walks daily, encouraging her to build confidence. She comes to her name being called and will hang out in the same room as her foster family, but does not cuddle and often will hang out in another room.
Leila really shines in the presence of other dogs and loves to play chase in the backyard. She'll even play with toys by herself, throwing them into the air and catching them. Having a role model and playmate fur-sibling would be ideal.
Leila's furever home will have to be understanding. She will continue to need work and training and may never be an affectionate or clingy dog.
