German Shepherd Dog (short coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Baby : : Large
We were called by the local shelter and asked if we could take in a very pregnant German Shepherd dog. Mom was found wandering the streets with another dog we assumed was the father. Mom appears to be a full bred German Shepherd and dad looks like a Shepherd/lab mix. Two weeks after being in her foster home mommy dog gave birth to 10 puppies. There are five boys and five girls. They have been well socialized with other dogs, cats and kids. Mom is on the smaller side and was quite thin when she came into the shelter so it's difficult to estimate what her true weight should be but we are guessing these pups will be in the 50 to 70 pound range. We will be looking for homes that have large dog and puppy experience and demonstrate a desire for continued formal training so that these pups can grow to be the wonderful dogs we know they will be. They are an active breed so the perfect home for them would be one that likes to hike, camp, run and just be all around active with their dog.
They will be fixed later this month before being adopted. We are taking applications now, and they will all be ready to be adopted late May.
