Looking for a fun, compact, energetic pooch? Well Chipper may be your guy! This sweet 2-3 year old Doxie/Beagle/Pug mix boy is the complete package! At 6.5 lbs he is compact enough to tag all along on all your adventures yet big enough to hang for those weekend hikes or power walks with your pal. Chipper did not have the most loving start in life. A Good Samaritan witnessed someone dump him at the waterfront in Hercules with a bag of food and a few of his things. As the old owners drove off this Good Samaritan turned into Chippers Guardian Angel as she loaded him into her car and brought him to the shelter to be reported as a “found” pooch. Unfortunately shelters in Contra Costa county have little resources and sparse rescue support so she began to network and found Jake’s Wish. Lucky for Chipper we had a foster home waiting to take him in. This once scared and confused little guy is doing great. He has been in foster care for a few weeks and is showing his fun little personality. He lives with other dogs and does great. He’s a little shy at first but warms up quickly. Chipper is crate trained and is doing good with his house training. He would make a great little agility dog and could easily go to a doggie daycare while his person is at work. After a long day of dog playing his favorite thing to do is crawl up on your lap and watch the latest episode of your favorite TV show. He would prefer a home with a fenced in backyard over an apartment but if you are active enough, apartment peeps are ok. He could live with school aged children.
