Maltese / Poodle (Miniature) : : Male
Mateo has gone through a lot in his life. When we were asked by the shelter to help him out here had horrible skin issues and very thin and missing hair. With a lot of love, medicated baths and proper nutrition we were able to considerably reduce the inflammation in his skin. However poor little Mateo seem to be walking as if his back was hurting him. An MRI was done but no reason was found for His discomfort. We decided to do a lumbar puncture and it was noted he had meningiomyelitis. Unfortunately there is no cure for this so our sweet boy will probably be on lifelong steroids. The meds have helped him with the discomfort so we feel it is time for him to find that one amazing Adopter that is willing to take on a sweet little boy that will have continued medical needs. Mateo lives with other dogs and does just fine. His favorite thing is to cuddle up next to his foster mom all day long and watch TV. If you are looking for a couch potato to keep you company Mateo may be your guy. At just around 7 pounds he is the perfect size to accompany you wherever you go.
