I’m Basil! I’m a super cool little dude with just the right mix of playful puppy and cuddle bug. I love all people and pooches that I meet and am always ready for some rough and tumble play time!

I have a lot of energy and love running around and chasing toys. I’m learning how to play tug-of-war, too. Once I’m all worn out from playing, I really enjoy cuddling up and being held. I like curling up with lots of blankets too, because my fur is so short and I get cold easily.

My foster parents have been feeding me puppy food, but I actually prefer my foster sibling’s Costco food. I’m not a gobbler, I only eat when hungry, so a gravity feeder is probably fine with me.

I know some tricks and am a really smart boy! I loooove treats so I will learn just about anything. I already know my name, I can sit, I come when called, and I’m working on, “off” and “stay.”

I’m doing great with potty training! I’m not fully there yet, but I’m making improvements every day and even go the whole night in my crate without an accident.

Speaking of crate, I really enjoy my crate to sleep in. My foster mom and dad don’t even have to shut the crate door anymore. I just go in there myself and sleep the whole night. Gosh, am I a good boy, or what!? What really helps me sleep and calm down is my Snuggle Puppy heartbeat dog toy. It really soothes me when I’m hyper or feeling insecure. I’d love one of those toys at my new home, it’s my favorite.

My foster mom is getting me used to teeth brushing. Did you know toothbrushes are not toys!? It took me a while to figure it out, and I’m still getting the hang of it, but I get my teeth brushed each night before going into my crate to sleep.

Sometimes I get something called, “puppy head.” That’s what my foster parents call it when I forget that I’m not supposed to chew on sofas and people. I’m still learning and sometimes need a reminder of what is okay to chew and what isn’t, but I’m ready to please the humans, so with some love and patience, I’ll get it down!

I can’t wait to meet my forever family. I’m going to give them so much love and make them smile really big!
