Meet Claire! She’s a 4 year old Maltese mix who is looking for her forever home! Here’s what her foster mom has to share about her:

Claire is shy at first, but is gaining more confidence every day and her leash manners are improving. She'll need patience, consistency, and reinforcement. A gentle approach is crucial to help her build trust since she is often anxious around new people and loud voices or noises. 

She has a lot of energy so two long walks plus time for zoomies during the day are important for her to get out her wiggles. She's more interested in playing with humans than toys. She's VERY cuddly and often uses my neck and chest as a dog bed. 

We've been practicing and with some work she could possibly live with a cat under the supervision of someone who has previous experience introducing dogs and dog-savvy cats.

She does well in a crate. She goes in without issue. She whines for a few minutes but then settles down. She loves bully sticks so I always give her one when she goes on her crate. She follows directions well if I tell her to get out or go away like if she's in the kitchen when someone is cooking. She knows potty outside, sit, down (lie down), crawl (about on her tummy), stay, food, off (stop jumping on people), go (go play), up (up on the bed/couch), car, come, inside, bath and probably a few more!
